Day 3 Morning : Tue: Udaipur

Lake PalaceTrain Arrives : by 7 a.m
Train Departs : by 230 p.m.

The scenic city of Udaipur with numerous lakes & palaces,is often called "Venice of the east" & nick named "the lake city" Most of it's Palaces have now been converted into luxury hotels & some still being managed by former royalty.

By 8.30 a. board A/c buses & proceed to visit The City Palace,built in seven phases over 180 years from 16th to 18th Century A.D. One of the largest Palace Complex in India, it's main entrance is through a triple arched gate, which leads to series of overlapping courtyards, terraces, corridors & gardens. The balconies of the Palace provide panoramic view of Lakes on one side & city of Udaipur on the other

Visit to the unique Crystal Gallery, personal collection of H.H. Maharana of Udaipur will definitely cast a spell on you. Glance at the elegant sofa sets with hand rest and frames, a four-poster bed with rich hangings, tables, throne like chairs and table fountains artefacts among the bigger items chiselled out of glass that requires a minute glass cut skill. There are also royal perfume and honey bottles, trays and cups, plates and champagne glasses, candle stands and coasters all made up of glass Most of the display is from 19th century famous manufacturers F and C Osier Company, Birmingham, England

Now enjoy a boat ride in Lake Pichola,around Lake Palace Hotel,situated on an island & built in mid 18th century of marble After lunch in 5 Star Hotel, return to the train & depart.






Chittorgarh


Day 3 Afternoon: Tue: Chittorgarh

Chittorgarh FortTrain Arrives : by 4.15 p.m
Train Departs : by 11 p.m.

Recorded to have been built in 8th Century & ruled by the same clan of Chattari Rajput dynasty from 8th to 16th Century,Chittor Fort is a symbol of all that was brave, true and noble in the glorious Rajput tradition. Spread over a large plateau, surrounded by a circular wall ,the fort can only be approached through a steep hill road that is guarded by seven huge gates,but today there is nothing more than a ruined citadel there On arrival at Chittorgarh Railway station board A/C buses for ride through the ruins of biggest fort in medieval India & enjoy Sound & Light Show on pride, romance and spirit for people of Chittor,who always chose death before surrendering against anyone. Later drive back to train for dinner & depart.
